Sweet peas

I love going out into the garden each morning to cut a bunch of deliciously stinky sweet peas.

Beautiful Bedgebury

The rain and cold weather stopped for long enough for us to take our first trip of the year to the wonderful Bedgebury Pinetum. I always wonder why we don’t go more often and vow upon leaving to return the following week.

The Primrose Project

I mosied on over to Pepenbury’s Primrose Project this morning. It has to be Rusthall’s best kept secret. The warm damp earthy smell as I walked into the heated polytunnel should be bottled and sold as eau du summer. Glorious. Equally glorious is the fact that each and every seed is planted and grown in Rusthall. You’ll never to go the garden centre ever again once you’ve seen their prices. It’s seriously value for money. So keep it local and support a very worthy cause by getting your lovely self down to their plot. It’s located at the end of Southwood Road next to the allotments and is open daily from 9am – 3pm. What’s not to love?

Leigh-on-Sea

We almost moved to Leigh-on-Sea situated on the mouth of the Thames. I love the Old Town and the silhouette of Canvey Island in the distance. It was the perfect day out after the cabin fever induced by the recent snow.

A Rusthall Ramble

It’s absolutely freezing outside today, but it’s also very beautiful. I had a lovely walk this morning on Rusthall Common in the winter sunshine.

Pookie Pie

I’ve been busy, super busy the past few months, chained to my sewing machine, labouring away making Christmas decorations and gifts for my new craft business Pookie Pie. Collaborating with neighbour and friend Liz Murphy, our special Christmas Sewn Up collection has been going down a storm.  We have our final two days in our wood cabin at the Royal Tunbridge Wells at Christmas shebang this coming weekend so stop by and say hello if you are in the area. I have enjoyed every minute of it but I am utterly exhausted and am looking forward to doing nothing more in January than reading a few good books, taking some photos and going on some nice walks.
